Would you befriend an Orc in real life?
GameSpot noone except my bodyguard
After i hear them singing while drinking grog? Hell yeah!
GameSpot Yes why not 😄
Holy crap this game has mechanics inside of mechanics...
Daniel King you already know
Did anyone else almost die to a boss and just have one little guy come up and stab them
Hell yeah, Gondorian grunts for the win!
I was at my last chance fighting a lvl 63 regent trying to take back a fort after like a 10 minute fight and some guy just went in and killed him at 30% health somehow, needlessly to say he's been the new regent since
I had a guy I didn’t even Dominate just come out with a type of banjo/hammer thing and beat an enemy captain to death.
Another shadow strike upgrade you should get is the shadow pull(I think that’s what it’s called). What I do with it is I get up on a tower or something high and pull the captain up to isolate him from the grunts, making him easier to kill.
This is a really powerful tactic. I stopped using it tho cos it feels a bit cheesy
I’ll try this!
Holy shitttt thanks for the idea
The game is fantastic. Doesn´t feel like the microtransactions have a big impact on gameplay at all now. Also be sure to behead nasty captains. Had one bugger who got shamed, returned as the ´Unashamed´. Then proceeded to lose his arms etc. but still defied death 4 times. 10/10
Jesse I’ve heard people who beheaded orcs and they still came back
It's true, the more I plaed the more weird stuff I encountered. My favourite was this one orc that got cleaved in half, beheaded and returned as 'The Machine' with pretty much all immunities. Took a long time but instantly made him overlord.
Yeah, the micros transaction system is definitely not necessary. You can play through the game at a completely normal pace.<br><br>The main downside tho is that loot boxes & microtransactions feel very artificial. Getting Orcs from lootboxes really breaks the immersion.<br>It does not do the game any favors.
Just thought I'd point out that the fighting pits are not the best way to level your orcs up. You have no control over the fight, and sometimes you get a epic or legendary that is a few levels ahead of whatever the set level is for the particular challenge level. Not to mention, I've seen guys 10 levels stronger who lost just because they got matched against a guy who hated fire. Instead, send your weak orc on an ambush against a high leveled orc, then interfere and kill the orc for them. I did this for one of my guys who was about level 30 against a level 60 and he gained 20 levels afterwords.
How to interfere in the ring war? I suppose you cannot do anything when the orcs are fighting in the ring.
@CJagent47 the ambush is not for the arena.
7 years later on my PS5 and I’m doing the exact same thing
Advanced tip: hold the controller while you're playing
Damn, I didn't even think of that! Thanks for the amazing trick
Help!! Trying to hold the controller while using my mouse and keyboard is WAY too difficult 😢<br><br>How is this an advanced tip?? What am I missing!?? 😤
This game has better stealth mechanics than any AC game.
Playing the game on nemesis difficulty.. the orcs don't wait for you to dominate they just attack mercilessly.. :D
Rashad Al-Sabban same here. Nemesis difficulty is the way to go
Rashad Al-Sabban And they really are merciless too. Had times where I've taken a hit, and then about 5 more because they came before Talion had recovered from the first.
I'm absolutely LOVING nemesis difficulty. I do still think the game is relatively easy, so I hope that Monolith'll eventually develop a New game+ difficulty or just a higher difficulty in general. Maybe add options so you can disable branding orcs (of course you can choose to not brand orcs right now, but i feel like there's there a difference) and other options like that.
I have a seemly almost indestructible fortress<br>every one of my warchiefs have possessive master "becomes enraged when a body guard is attacked"<br>every captain has bloodlust "enraged when another orc is enraged around them "this also goes for your own enraged allies"<br>and it took a while but i spent like 300 hours or so just farming orcs in every area to get a nurnen force that has great strength, and fire/poison/curse master.<br>my nurnen army consists of half being slayers and the other half being beserkers<br>and every captain slot is taken by my army so all of nurnen is conquered :D<br>now i should say how many captains is on every warchief.<br><br><br>Warchief A: has 5 body guards<br>Warchief B: has 5 body guards<br>Warchief C: has 2 body guards<br>Warchief D: has 2 body guards<br><br><br>then the inner circle warchiefs<br><br><br>Warchief E: has 1 body guard<br>Warchief F: has 1 body guard<br><br><br>Overlord: has 3 body guards<br>"overlord is also possessive master btw"<br>the body guards that the overlord has are played a bit differently, one is a tank beserker. thickskin, but has mighty defenders. 2nd one is a great strength epic rage. so he can stay enraged and scare the living shit out of the opponent. and the 3rd one is a necromancer beserker that can raise the dead and the fallen captains.<br>my overlord has thickskin and great strength <br><br><br><br>one more thing, picture you're fighting my fortress capturing the A point. then one of my captains are attacked. the warchief will become enraged therefore signaling all of the bloodlust on the other 5 captains and then they all become enraged. its the same thing for capture point B aswell. you just gotta hope one of my body guards dont get hit, or else its gonna set off a chain reaction and rest in peace your captains and you<br><br><br><br> i know nobody cares but i just like expressing how tough my fortress is
Holy fucking shit
I'd be shocked if someone manages to conquer one of your fortresses with that kind of backing power lol. Big props!!
@JeisonTheMystic i know, and all my war chiefs ive known since like level 3
My legendary orc betrayed me and I had to kill him 😭
I just redominate him and force him to fight in the pits
I feel the pain✊
At least you got some sweet legendary equipment.
Played the game on hardest difficulty during the beginning when you have nothing good. I wanted to die
Kylethefish for real
How did that go with shadow wars
Its pretty dang easy on the hardest difficulty
Love the upgraded levels of the orcs based off of what you do but it would be nice to mention that they can not exceed you’re own level. Otherwise it won’t allow you to control them.
The people who passed on this game due to whining about the microtransactions are really missing out on one of the best games of the year
idk if you simply don't use them what they going to do force them in every game and cause a game crash
he said they balanced the game around them
I like the game but yea I can tell they made some game mechanics to promote lootboxes
This game full with betrayal just like real life (︶︿︶)
Don't forget slavery and shaming that's the best part of the game
Don’t forget the mindless orcs, endlessly warring!!<br><br>All one has to do is look at the war in Ukraine and see that the Russians are modern day orcs 😂
This game is amazing. 30 hours in and still dont really know what im doing.
Just make an army of insane ûrcs and you're on the right track
@ThatOneGuy_James yea im starting to. I was just dominating everyone before aye
I’m with you. I just grind it out til I get hungry or it’s bedtime
The nemesis system is absolute gold! Unique and well implemented!!!
Important tip for assaulting / defending fortresses:<br><br>If you find yourself faced with an enemy who is either the commander or tank class, either recruit them or shame them, do NOT try to kill them. Tanks have a second wind after being defeated, which can make killing them a real pain when you're trying to go for gold rating on online forts. Meanwhile commanders have a class ability that means that if they die, their nearby allies become enraged, making it very easy to get overwhelmed if the commander was in a big crowd when he died
I saw a clown trikster at one point. I have always hated clowns but I decided to give this one a chanse so I branded him and went after an uruk as a test. Turns out it was the clowns blood brother so they combine their forces and slaughters my ass. After that the clown betrayed the previous overlord, took over the place and became a fucking necromancer. This is why I hate clowns 10/10 would brand again!
The combat dominate strategy is actually really helpful. Did not expect to actually see something like that 😂
